Afternoon on the Galactic Highway

These photos are long overdue. I haven't had the time, the energy and the motivation to blog with all the tests I have to study for and lessons I have to catch up with, not to mention having to say goodbye to two people that I care for a lot. The feng shui people were spot-on when they said this year would be bad luck for those who were born on the year of the rooster. They also told me (read this from a large paper with fortunes written for all years in a temple) that I must take precaution because I may get kidnapped or something. They're trying to scare me.

Back to the photos, I took them on the way to a resort.. with a wave pool! No wave pool pictures, I didn't want to risk getting my camera splashed with water by those wild creatures, I mean kids. So most of these photos are of me, some by me, on the road. I hate how my hair gets so oily from travelling. WHY. does my blood circulate faster when I travel? Does my blood circulate faster, thereby making my glands produce more oil when I travel? Ok, gross, sorry.

As I Watched the Flower Wither

These photos were taken on my way to the hospital. You probably have an idea how bad the traffic can get in manila, most of these lights were from cars, ha ha. (I think these blurred light effects are called bokeh.) I didn't know that the raindrops would help to produce such nice photos.

That week was quite draining for my family and I, going back and forth to the hospital, socializing with relatives, staying up late and what-not. I am just glad that I was able to be there for my grandmother. It's great to know that even though she was in a coma, she could still hear us talking to her. At times, tears would accumulate at the corner of her eyes when we spoke to her.

To My Dearest Grandmother

When God Lets My Body Be

From each brave eye shall sprout a tree
fruit that dangles therefrom

the purpled world will dance upon
Between my lips which did sing

a rose shall beget the spring
that maidens whom passion wastes

will lay between their little breasts
My strong fingers beneath the snow

Into strenuous birds shall go
my love walking in the grass

their wings will touch with her face
and all the while shall my heart be

With the bulge and nuzzle of the sea
